TikTok!
Marketing with TikTok is one of the most useful things that nowadays we are using. I can remember back to when Covid hit and how TikTok was one of the biggest things for everyone to show what they were doing during this time. Personally, I see a ton of advertisements that want me to buy anything on TikTok and in the past two to three years since Covid has been one of the bigger things to show up on TikTok.
There were some statistics that I saw in the textbook about TikTok and it seems like what we already know about is present in the statistics. TikTok is the sixth most popular social media platform and the time spent per month is 23.5 hours which is not as bad as what I thought it was going to be. There is a total ad revenue of $5.04 billion dollars which is just absolutely insane to me. According to TikTok, active brands are receiving an impressive 200,000 views per post, with an average engagement rate of nine percent. These numbers are way above the amount that they thought they would bring in. This is a very powerful tool for brands that will allow them to grow. On the business side of TikTok, brands are able to add information about their business, including website and contact information, making data-driven decisions through real-time metrics on content-performance, access analytics such as follower insights (number of followers, follower growth, demographics, location, activity by day) profile views, video metrics (views, total play time, average watch time, traffic source) and more.
TikTok says that there are three easy steps to get going on the business side of the app. The first step is to obviously get on TikTok and sign up for an account that will allow you to register your number, email, and more. The second step is to set up a free business account. The way to set up the account is to switch your account to the pro account and choose the category that will best fit your business. The final step is to create and get discovered.
